The power of strength training

From 0 to a 105-kilo hip thrust in just 4 months. After years of aimlessly working out in the gym, Odilia decided to start working with us. A powerful choice, opting for strategic strength training.

“For me, BOOST is a place of belonging. People who speak the same language as I do. Professionals who know exactly what they’re doing, both in content and with people.

As a co-owner of BOOSTCommunity, it’s important for me to live up to my potential, so that I can help our coaching clients as best as possible to live up to theirs. We call it ‘walking the talk’.”

That’s why it was a no-brainer for me to start training at BOOSTClubs.

I began in September 2023, and by early December of the same year, I was already hip thrusting 105 kilograms, an exercise I had never done before just four months prior. Now, I’m lifting heavy weights, and I can see myself getting stronger, finding it easier with each session.

I also notice a difference in my mindset and actions. Normally, I would go to the gym and just wing it. Now, I train based on a foundation. I know what I’m doing, why I’m doing it, and how to do it properly.

For me, the main goal wasn’t necessarily to lose weight but to feel fitter. I now train at least twice a week and have become more conscious of my nutrition.

Where I used to consider myself a sweet tooth, I’ve now consciously made the choice not to be one anymore. As a result, I hardly eat any cookies or sweets anymore. Simply by not identifying with it as much anymore. Who you want to be makes the difference. And it really starts in the kitchen.

Emilio’s training helps me to push further. To fully commit to exercises and just feel what it does. He helps me follow a schedule and stick to it. I become aware of the things you learn in the world and on social media about nutrition and exercise, that you want to be critical of those. Eating whole wheat bread doesn’t make sense if you’re still snacking on cookies.

Delightful, that honesty. That’s what I need. Before the collaboration, I had no doubts about BOOSTClubs, but I did have doubts about myself. Can I do this? But those concerns were immediately dispelled after the first training session. I can do much more than I thought.

Now that I have strength training under my belt, I also dare to start running again after a year and a half. BOOSTClubs also helps me with that. What can’t they do 😉

I’m incredibly happy that I made the choice to train here. I come from Breda to the middle of the country with pleasure to train. I would recommend everyone to schedule a trial session at BOOSTClubs and experience what it’s like to truly think differently about exercise and nutrition.”

Odilia is experiencing the power of strength training by making a commitment to herself. It’s also great that we can work so closely with our own BOOST team.

Would you like to experience what strength training can do for you too?
